Both BFCM and the holidays are in everyone's sights right now in the e-commerce space, and for a lot of us the pressure is on to perform. This can be a make or break time for that last revenue pump that will turn the tide on yearly revenue reporting. Luckily, I'm part of an incredible team of people who have worked together to make this year better than ever for Mud Hole Custom Tackle .

Over the past few weeks, we ran a wide-spanning Pre Black Friday campaign as we typically do to give our customers an early start on big discounts, and this year we've achieved an astounding 27% increased revenue from 2023.

This is what we did differently:

๐Ÿฃ Pushed promotions earlier than ever before. The early bird really does get the worm! Klaviyo insights have shown that starting as early as late October can be highly advantageous.

๐Ÿงช A/B tested and tailored our subject lines, copy, creative, and CTA placement day-by-day based on the data. We stayed on our toes the whole time, but this was pivotal in making each day's attributed email & SMS numbers better than the last.๐Ÿ“ฒ Utilized SMS for the first time. We've been growing our SMS list for almost a year, and this sale was the biggest test of it's value yet. The ROI was incredible. Highly recommend if you have a promising capture system.

๐Ÿ’ช Centered our promotions around aggressive, straightforward value props that our customers couldn't ignore.

As much as some of these are basic principles, our data showed that we needed to focus on these things, and it paid to listen! I think the biggest takeaway from this holiday season so far is that looking back at data, seeing what worked and what didn't, and establishing a clear path to growth is essential to making continued gains.
